NOTES: If your rear mounting bracket is marked "Houck 051" the new part number is 251. Replacement rear mounting brackets can be purchased direct from Houck using credit cards by calling 812-663-5675 Monday - Thursday 9:00 am - 2:30 pm Eastern Standard Time. The price for replacement brackets is $6.00 a pair with free shipping. Manufacturer recommends that Houck 051 (251), 750 and 751 brackets be installed using #8 x 1/2" pan head screws. Do not use wood screws as the back plates are not countersunk to accommodate wood screws. Wood screws will crack the slots on the back plate of the brackets. Test results show if wood screws are used in the slots of the back plate of the brackets the failure rate is over 90%. Use of pan head screws results in failure rates less than 1%. If installers want to install additional screws where there are no slots or holes, it is recommended they drill a hole in the bracket. Screwing a pan head screw through the bracket without drilling a hole in the bracket is not recommended and will result in cracking the bracket. The cabinet track must be inserted into the bracket a minimum of 1 3/4" - 2". Less insertion may result in breakage under heavy loads. If the cabinet track is not inserted according to recommendations, a shim should be placed behind the bracket to achieve the minimum recommended insertion. The 700 series brackets are used on the 700 series cabinet track. All 700 series cabinet tracks are stamped with 700R (right hand) or 700L (left hand). Houck 700 series brackets WILL NOT work on other manufacturers slides. The universal 260 plug-in brackets will replace all Houck plug-in brackets. Customers may need to shorten the 8mm dowels if they do not have enough clearance between the back of the cabinet and the wall. |
